Russian Manicure at Polished by Kim — ultra-clean cuticle work and gel polish in Spring, TX

Russian Manicure in Spring & The Woodlands, TX

A precise, dry e-file technique for ultra-clean cuticles and long-lasting gel polish. One client at a time, in a calm private studio.

What Is a Russian Manicure?

A Russian Manicure is a dry, e-file-based technique that focuses on the cuticle area. Instead of soaking the nails in water, a precision e-file drill is used to carefully remove dead skin, cuticle tissue, and any product buildup right at the nail plate.

The result is an exceptionally clean, polished look where the gel color appears to start right at the base of the nail — no visible cuticle, no lifting, no white edges. It's the technique behind those impossibly clean nail photos you see online.

Because the prep work is so thorough, the gel polish adheres better and tends to last 3–4 weeks with significantly less lifting than a standard manicure.

Common Questions

How is a Russian Manicure different from a regular manicure?

A regular manicure typically involves soaking the nails and pushing back cuticles. A Russian Manicure uses a dry e-file technique to precisely remove dead skin at the nail plate — resulting in a much cleaner finish and better gel adhesion.

Does it hurt?

In experienced hands, it shouldn't. Kim works carefully and at a pace that keeps you comfortable. If anything feels too intense, she'll adjust. First-timers sometimes feel a mild warmth from the e-file, which is normal.

How long does it last?

Because the nail plate is so thoroughly prepped, the gel tends to last 3–4 weeks with minimal lifting — longer than a standard gel manicure for most clients.

Can I add nail art?

Yes. Nail art add-ons are available at an additional cost. Mention your ideas when booking or in the appointment notes.

How often should I get a Russian Manicure?

Every 3–4 weeks is typical, depending on how fast your nails grow and your personal preference.
